A collection of stories, facts and notes from more than 10 years of my Shenton family history research. The Shenton family has a strong railway connection, from the 1860's with the South Yorkshire Railway in Sheffield and Mexborough, then with at least three generations serving the Manchester Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway, Great Central, LNER and British Railways.
