ACCIDENT AT SWINTON STATION. – On Monday morning, about five o’clock, as a fireman named Richard Shenton, residing at Swinton Wharf, and employed at the Mexborough Plant Works, was proceeding to his employment, he slipped on the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire platform at Swinton and broke his leg between the ankle and the knee. He shouted for help, but he was not perceived until half and hour later, by which time he was suffering very severely from cold and exposure. He was then removed home by a number of cleaners, and his injuries attended to.
